REFLECTION
- Experience: I find these 14 weeks to be far too short. Nothing has been acquired from the beginning, and Typography's adventure is about to come to an end. Over the past 14 weeks, I have encountered many challenges, but I have never trembled. I finished all of the assignments under the guidance and judgement of our lecturer, Miss Low. I value the teacher's feedback too much since without it, I wouldn't be able to locate the small details I overlooked throughout the activity. Along with that, the course gave me new experiences like creating my own typeface, expressing myself, and effectively presenting my ideas for font creation. We have to conduct online research before beginning any task, and I have read through a lot of text. My interest in typeface design has increased as a result. I can sum up my experience on this voyage with one word: fantastic.
- Observation: I've noticed that each lecture I've taken had students with distinct ideas and design concepts of their own. It never ceases to astonish me. Our lecturer will also provide us access to a variety of websites and illustrations that focus on typeface design. Additionally, the teacher occasionally creates a new typeface design right then and there for our reference. Every time, the teacher provided thoughtful criticism and showed us how to make sure our work complied with the requirements. Additionally, I will take my classmates' comments with a cool demeanour, and frequently, my pals will be able to spot my work's flaws before I do. My students and I will passionately discuss and share our thoughts.
- Findings: I learned about the mystery of typefaces in this course. Why are certain designers able to communicate all the information with just basic fonts? Certain works are hard for readers to understand. The most significant lesson I have learnt is also this. To properly communicate information, we must become excellent at using uncomplicated font designs or typesetting. Similar to Task 1, we are limited to using letters to create an animation. That was a rather difficult task for me, but with my teacher's help, I completed it.
