Project 01: Thematic Interactive Website Proposal

What is a thematic interactive website?
  • Thematic Interactive Website Proposal for Brand Engagement. A thematic interactive website is a website that focuses on a specific theme or concept to incorporate interactive elements to interact with users.
  • Most such websites utilize multimedia such as videos, animations, interactive graphics displayed on the page, or other clickable elements that have interactive components that provoke the user. This dynamic experience is meant to keep the user interested in addition to the thematic concept.
  • Themes in such websites vary from educational, cultural, and promotional campaigns to product launches. For example, a thematic interactive site could be a museum. Users can go through a virtual exhibition space through interactive tours, game simulations, or questionnaires.
  • If it is a movie, the site can simulate movie universes offering virtual tours through time and space, or any other subject previously created in the movie. The aim of any such site is to keep the user engaged in the medium through interactive exploration.
Requirement
We are required to create a thematic interactive website proposal with the topic of their choice that can be based on:
  • A specific product of a particular brand launch/special (i.e.: Nike brand new shoe), Beauty product launch (i.e.: Sephora compact powder)
  • Movie promotion
  • Game release promotion
  • Gallery/Museum exhibit launch
  • Band/Artist latest release
Submission
  • Completed UI/UX proposal document
  • All processes (concept, wireframes, mood board, flow chart)
To start this task, I first need to confirm which topic that I want to do. Actually, I have 5 ideas for this task. This included:
  • Creating a thematic Faouzia fan page
  • Creating a website that shows Nintendo digital game promotions
  • Designing an education platform with interactive games
  • Design a cooking website that offers interactive cooking tutorials
  • Create a site that goes beyond traditional booking by offering users virtual tours of destinations
I was more preferred the first idea since I'd done a fan page for Faouzia in the previous semester, but that one is quite simple and it doesn't include any animation or transition. So, I would like to redesign a new one that includes more elements and animation to make it interesting.

Here is my first draft proposal:

After our lecturer, Mr Shamsul went through with my proposal, he said that the first idea could proceed but maybe I could change the content of the website. He told me that the main content of this website can show the world tour of Faouzia

Final Proposal Presentation:
  • Introduction: Describe Faouzia's background, and why I want to choose Faouzia as my topic.
  • Content: Sharing some of Faouzia's music videos and portraits and also recording a video when browsing Faouzia's official website as a reference
  • Concept: A short brief about the content of the website, and also key features, goals, and target audience
  • Flow chart: Create a flow chart to describe how the website works and list out all the features
  • Inspiration board and animation, color palette and font chosen
  • Wire Frame
The goal of this website is to
  • Engage Fans: By providing exclusive information, captivating images, and interactive features, you may create a rich, dynamic experience that appeals to Faouzia's fan base.
  • Promote Ticket Sales: Act as a central location where fans can quickly research and buy tickets for Faouzia's live events.
  • Create a Community: Encourage a forum where fans may interact and exchange stories to heighten anticipation for the global tour.

FEEDBACK

Week 1: Don't have class

Week 2: -

Week 3: Perhaps you could try something different from your previous semester. Since you’ve already created a fan page for Faouzia, why not focus on something more specific this time? For instance, you could create a website dedicated solely to Faouzia's world tour. The site could include detailed descriptions of each tour, along with photos and videos, allowing fans to experience the atmosphere of the live events—even if they weren’t able to attend the concerts in person.

Week 4:
  • The wireframe is not complete. No navigation system and the layout seems plain.
  • Color scheme and fonts are okay. But the wireframe can be refined further. Maybe once you start building the prototype. It seems that everything is huge.

REFLECTION

It has been a fulfilling and creative experience to work on this difficult interactive design job. Creating a website with a theme centered around Faouzia's global tour allowed me to investigate more specialized facets of web design that improve user interaction. By focusing only on her global tour, I was able to explore the site's storytelling element more thoroughly and had a clearer direction. I tried to bring her live performances to life for her supporters who might not have been able to see them in person by including in-depth descriptions, images, and videos. Additionally, I had difficulties along this task, especially in making sure the multimedia components worked well on a variety of platforms and were immersive. My ability to combine utility and visual appeal in responsive design and user experience has improved as a result of this challenge.
