SUBMISSION

Exercise 01 - Quantify & Visualize Data

Instruction:
Gather a set of objects and separate them into color, shape, pattern, and another quantifiable factor.

Example:
1. Box of Legos
2. Jar of buttons
3. Jar of marble ball
4. Set of colorful rubber straps

In this exercise, we must quantify and arrange our chosen objects into a presentable layout or chart. The information must be presented as is, and we must arrange the objects with relevant indicators written out with pens to help us visualize the quantity and data. Examples of objects that can be used are buttons, coins, lego pieces, M&Ms, and more.

I first chose M&Ms as the material to complete this exercise. I purchased a pack of M&Ms, which included different colors to make it easier to arrange them. After that, I started sorting them in the class.

Final Quantify and Visualise Data:
In this poster, I used different colors of M&Ms to represent various emotions: "happiness (red), feeling good (orange), boredom (yellow), and sadness (blue)." Each color acts as an emotional expression, visually reflecting the emotions one experiences throughout the day. Additionally, I incorporated colorful lines to enhance the design and make the poster more visually engaging.

FEEDBACK

Week 01:
The idea is good, and the outcome looks great. You must talk more about the story of the poster, like write on the paper or write it in your blog

REFLECTION

Reflecting on the "Quantify & Visualize Data" exercise, I selected M&Ms as my subject due to their diverse colors, which facilitated categorization. By sorting them into colors representing emotions—red for happiness, orange for feeling good, yellow for boredom, and blue for sadness—I aimed to create a visual metaphor for daily emotional experiences. This approach allowed me to explore how abstract concepts like emotions can be represented through tangible items.

The process of arranging the M&Ms and incorporating colorful lines to enhance the design deepened my understanding of how visual elements can convey complex information effectively. Overall, this exercise enhanced my appreciation for the power of visual representation in communicating nuanced ideas.
