REFLECTION

• What have I learnt in this module?
This module has given me a lot to learn. Not only design principles but also design's potential for self-improvement. I begin analyzing the design principles found in several well-known pieces of art. This will help me generate better designs and also help me become more visually pleasing. On the plus side, this module was also extremely interesting for me to learn about the emotional impact that design decisions may have on a viewer. This inclusive method has deepened my understanding of design and improved my ability to create with thinking and meaning.
• What did I enjoy the most?
Asking our lecturer for criticism helps me identify my mistakes and make necessary corrections, thus I primarily love doing that. I enjoy having discussions with our lecturer or my friend. As designers, we share ideas, and the most crucial part of our self-improvement is being open to recommendations from others. Acknowledging our errors will enable us to improve as designers and produce greater pieces of art.
• What did I not enjoy the most?
The fact that this module didn't teach me more about how to utilize Adobe Illustration or any other platform that I could use in the future is what I didn't enjoy the most about it. However given that this module deals with analysis and comprehension, I believe it suffices. Even if it isn't substantially operating some technique, it might further our understanding of design fundamentals.
• What have I learnt about myself through this module?
I found patience for the iterative process of creativity and a fortitude in the face of challenges in design. I learned the value of helpful criticism from the module's focus on analysis and feedback, which helped me develop more toughness and an open mind. I've come to understand that, in addition to producing visually appealing designs, my interest is using design thinking to solve problems and cater to the requirements of viewers.
• What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
When during this module, I have determined the design style that I prefer. I started practising drawing manual sketches before digitised my design. I found out that it will be easier than I drawing in Adobe Illustration directly. Besides, my path of study has changed from emphasizing visual appeal to a deeper understanding of the technical and emotional aspects of design. My love of creativity and my ambition to keep learning and developing in this area, however, haven't changed.
• What could be improved in this module?
To make this module better, I think theory and practice should be more closely connected. Learning might be improved by having more group projects and workshops with real-world examples. This would make the concepts of theory more interesting and immediately important.
